This project is on a quiet street in East Vancouver. The clients wanted something different, but also wanted the building to sit comfortably in the community oriented context. Standard building materials are used in a fresh way, and volumes are maximized on the tight site. The south facing facade (rear yard) has a light filigree of aluminum sun shading to help tame the heat, and offer a counter point to the robust shape of the building. A mid level terrace helps the main floor feel connected to the rear yard.
